When to use this: organizing the catalog (categories) and configuring how packs break into sellable units (strip of 10 vs loose tablets).
Steps
-
Categories — assign on the product form; used for filtering, reports and audits by category.
-
Units & pack — say how many units make up one pack (e.g. a strip = 10 tablets), and whether staff can sell single loose units or only full packs. Billing then handles either — a customer buying a whole strip, or just 4 loose tablets.
⚠ Careful
- Changing pack/unit configuration after stock exists can distort counts — set it right when the product is created; if you must change it, do a stock audit right after (→ INV-04).
