Orientation guide: Read this page once to get familiar with the BitMed Web POS layout and main navigation regions.
The picture above is the Dashboard, but these five regions are in the same place on every screen in BitMed.
5 Main Regions of the App
1. Left Navigation Menu
Access all main areas of your pharmacy from the left sidebar. The items are grouped under five headings, so you can find a screen by what you are trying to do:
SELL
- Dashboard: Overview of daily sales, low stock alerts, and quick metrics.
- Billing: Your main POS counter screen for fast keyboard billing.
- Sales: Search past invoices, process returns, or reprint receipts.
STOCK
- Inventory: Monitor medicine stock levels, batch expiries, and rack locations.
- Products: Manage your product catalog, prices, and bulk imports.
- Labels: Design and print shelf labels and barcodes.
BUY
- Purchases: Enter purchase orders (PO) and goods receipt notes (GRN).
- Suppliers: Manage supplier profiles and what you owe them.
PEOPLE
- Customers: Manage customer profiles, loyalty types, and credit balances (Khata).
- Doctors: Manage the prescribers you link to bills.
INSIGHTS
- Reports: Generate GST returns (GSTR-1), Schedule H1 registers, and sales analytics.
Settings sits on its own at the bottom of the sidebar: configure store profiles, tax rules, printers, and staff permissions.
On windows 840 to 1199 pixels wide, the menu becomes a narrow icon rail to leave more room for the active screen. It also becomes an icon rail on wider windows while a Goods Receipt Note (GRN) is open. Your billing session appears in a small badge at the top of the rail, together with your store if you have more than one. Click the badge to switch session, and scroll the rail to reach items farther down.
2. Top Bar & Header
Runs across the top: the BitMed logo, your business name, the screen search, and the staff member signed in, with the notification bell beside them. On the Billing screen it also carries the Standard / Quick Bill mode tabs.
Your billing session (Session A, B, C…) and, if applicable, your store appear in the card or badge at the top of the left menu. See multiple counters.
3. Connection & Sync Indicator
Bottom-left of the screen, in the status strip. It tells you two things at a glance:
- Synced, followed by how long ago — for example Synced · 5m ago. You are connected and up to date.
- Offline — there is no internet. Billing carries on as normal and everything syncs when the connection returns.

4. Main Work Area
The active screen fills the rest of the window. On the Dashboard shown above it holds today's sales, bills, average bill, stock alerts, payment split and top products. On the Billing screen the same space holds the product search bar, the item table and the live totals panel.
5. Keyboard-First Controls
Ctrl + K opens the screen search from anywhere — marked 5 in the picture — so you can jump to any screen without the mouse.
On the Billing screen, the function keys do the work:
- F1: Search
- F2: New Bill
- F3: Customer Panel
- F4: Hold Bill
- F5: Recall Bill
- F6: Reprint Last Bill
- F7: Payment
- F8: Substitutes
- F9: Batch Selection Picker
- F10: Express Pay & Print
- Ctrl + L: Quick Switch Staff User
